If you saw the Summer in the Parks listing a couple days ago, you may have noticed that there's a lot of great things happening in our area parks all summer long, but we got short shrift on Movies in the Park.
Buttercup Park Advisory Council is stepping in to help fill that gap! Approximately every other Friday during the summer, Buttercup will show a movie and usually some additional entertainment. There's a lot on the schedule! Movies begin at dusk. The programs were curated by Victor Herrera:
- Friday, June 3: Carmen Jones (1954)
Preshow performance by Rosalind Lee - Friday, June 17: The Mark of Zorro (1940)
Fencing presentation by Nathaniel Cerf - Friday, July 8: Five Million Miles to Earth (1967) aka Quatermass and the Pit
Sponsored by Big Chicks - Friday, July 22: Jungle Book (1942)
- Friday, August 5: Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
Preshow discussion with The Chicago Public Library, Bezazian Branch - Friday, August 19: The Black Stallion (1979)
- There will also be an additional movie shown on National Night Out - Details TBA
