Three Charged With Armed Robbery After Late-Night Attack on Pedestrian

Nice job, CPD and witnesses! A news release from CPD today:

"Richard Brooks and 2 male juveniles were arrested after they were identified as the males who robbed a 23 year old man. This incident occurred in the 1400 block of W. Argyle on January 17, 2016 at approximately 12:40 a.m.

The victim was outside when he was approached by four males. These males punched him, produced a handgun, and announced a robbery. They took the victim’s cell phone before fleeing. A witness was able to notify police as to the location of the offenders.

Responding officers placed three males in custody, recovered the victim’s cell phone and recovered a loaded handgun. The male victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and the offenders were charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time."

Richard Brooks is 18 years old and lives on the 5000 block of N. Ashland.  He will appear in Bond Court at 26th and California on Monday, January 18th. He and the two other juveniles who were arrested are charged with one count each of felony robbery with a firearm.
