Reader BB happened upon this scene at Foster Avenue Beach Sunday -- a few people creating their own polar plunge. We asked him if this was part of a sponsored event, and he said, "I am about 90% sure it was people just being wild. I spoke with them as we paid the meter at Foster. But they were mostly filming themselves - with a Gopro on a tripod - just for posterity."
We don't recommend this - at these temperatures exposed skin can develop frostbite in about 30 minutes, and for these guys, maybe a little more quickly - but it sure looks like they're having fun. Thanks, BB, for sharing the photos of the week.
