The latest we'd heard from CTA was that Leland would remain closed at Broadway until late February, but reader JMM sent in this photo today showing it's open as of this morning. Not sure how long it will stay this way, but it will surely make getting around a little easier.
But wait, there's more! Broadway is back to two-way traffic as well! We're giddy.
The Water Department still has some work to do, and Broadway and Leland will close again -- probably not for the first or last time -- but while the Water Department is getting the permit situation straightened out, enjoy the access.
