Before it was Pasteur, before it was S-L Pantry/S Pantry/Sheridan Pantry/U-T Pantry/Uptown Pantry, it was Mr. Charlie's Snack Shop, featuring broasted chicken. Business didn't look too good the night the Trib photographer took this picture, which ran in the May 4, 1980 edition of the paper.
Update: Several readers contacted us to let us know that Mr. Charlie's Snack Shop was actually on the NW corner of Sheridan and Lawrence. We also wanted to share another photo that shows Mr. Charlie's in full color, with the Lawrence House behind it in the distance for perspective.
