From Ald. Osterman's latest newsletter:
"These are exciting times along Argyle Street.
The 3rd Annual Argyle Night Market, featuring fresh food and produce sellers, a variety of product vendors, entertainment and family activities, begins tonight! The Night Market will run from 5-9 pm every Thursday through August 27 along Argyle Street between Kenmore Avenue and Sheridan Road.
Vendors participating at tonight's market are Tank Noodle, Phoenix Bean Tofu, Lyons Fruit Farm, Tai Nam Market, Carol Akiyama Jewelry, Beijo de Chocalat, North Garden, Paradise Products, Pho Viet, Ba Le, Hai Yen, Green Scene, Yoberri Gourmet and Heritage Bikes.
Entertainment will include a Drum and Percussion Circle with Baba Eli at 5:30 pm, and Harmon-E, featuring the best of Doo-Wop, at 6:30 pm. The Activities Booth, hosted by Missio Dei Uptown, offers fun activities for the whole family: face painting, button making, bags and more.
Tonight, the Chinese Mutual Aid Association will also host a PlayStreets event on Winthrop between Argyle and Ainslie from 4:30-7:30 pm. Zumba, youth basketball, bouncy house and more will be available.
I encourage everyone to head to Argyle to check out the market and stop in at some of the many wonderful restaurants and other businesses in the area. I hope to see you there!
The Night Market is produced by Uptown United, the office of 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events."
