Asian Pacific Heritage Month Coming In May

From Business Partners, the Chamber for Uptown:

"Whether you are living and working in our community, or are just in Uptown for a visit, you have a unique opportunity to experience and learn about the diverse cultures that make up our neighborhood. Throughout the month of May, we are working with Uptown United and other community partners to coordinate programs, workshops, performances and artistic displays that will highlight the rich and vibrant traditions of our Asian Pacific American community members.

APHM Art Walk  May 1, 2014 through May 31, 2014
Storefronts on Broadway from Wilson Ave to Argyle St
A community-wide art walk highlighting the talents and vision of Chicago's Asian-Pacific artists. Businesses from Wilson Avenue to Argyle Street will display traditional, folk and modern art that captures the Asian-Pacific American experience and adds a vibrant cultural element to our community. Kick-off Event  Saturday May 3, 2014 from 10am-2pm
5033 N Broadway (parking lot on East side of street)
This event will feature cultural performances including music, dance, drumming and other performing arts. Stop by to mix and mingle with Chicagoans from Uptown and all around the city!

APHM Family Fair  Saturday, May 17 from 10am-2pm
Chicago Public Library Bezazian Branch, 1226 W Ainslie
Bring the family for an interactive day of games, story-telling and hands-on arts and crafts highlighting Asian-Pacific traditions.
