The Rainbow Connection

Yes, it's frigid, but the weather comes with its own beauty.  Gene Tenner sent in this photo he took this morning of a rainbow over the lake.  Further west, it showed up as a "sun dog," which made it look like three suns were in the sky at the same time.  According to the Trib, these factors are necessary -- sunlight, ice crystals, cirrus clouds and bitterly cold temperatures.  We qualify.  Keep your eyes out, particularly when the sun is low in the sky.
