Lakefront Carnival Canceled For 2013

There will be no Lakefront Carnival this year. The event, scheduled to be a fundraiser for first responders and take place August 1st through 4th, has changed its website to say:

"2013 CANCELED 

Our event WILL NOT happen this year. 

The 501c3 has NOT been approved yet -
and we cannot move forward until that happens.

Fingers crossed for a 2014 event!" 

While many have posted here that they believe the plans are overly ambitious, we admire the "make no small plans" spirit of the organizers, who are based in Uptown and are promoters for more than 40 organizations, including Gay Night at Six Flags benefit, which raises thousands of dollars for Chicago House.

We'll see what happens in 2014.
