Meet The Commanders

From Ald. Cappleman's latest newsletter:

There's been much in the news about gun violence in Chicago and many of you want to know what's being done in the 46th Ward to address violence here. 19th Police District Commander Eli Voulgaris (pictured), 20th Police District Commander James Jones, and I will discuss how we are addressing gun violence and other criminal activity in the 46th Ward.

When: Wednesday, Feb 27 from 6:30pm to 8pm
Where: Preston Bradley Center, 941 W. Lawrence

This will be a time to learn the facts about crime in the 46th Ward, hear an overview of the revised Public Safety Ward Master Plan, and learn what you can do to help make the area safer.

To prepare for the meeting, email us your questions at chris@james46.org

Answers to these questions will be provided at the meeting. Together, we can help make the 46th Ward safer for everyone.

  1. Well something needs to be done.We had someone break into our back door of the building -I ran right into to these guys-was lucky and was able to call police-well 45 mins. later police show -when asked them why so long they said oh we just got the call in car about 5 mins. ago. Now if a break in is not urgent what the hell is.

  2. My God how dense is this entire country that we keep talking about gun CONTROL and not why these young men (and women) feel the need to kill eachother over, hmm, CAPITAL!?

How about everyone start hollering at Rahm who continues to shutdown health clinics and railroad public education, while tossing our tax dollars at private, and WEALTHY hotel developers? How people start addressing the source of this violence? Capitalism.

  3. The Mayors House and family urgently need protecting. How can you be so selfish to expect the Police to come to your call when they have Rhams house to protect?
