"The Mercy Housing Learning Program is seeking volunteers interested in tutoring adults with low literacy. The qualifications involve volunteering at least one hour every week for 6 months. A background in education is preferred but not required. We will provide a free 12 hour training in ABE (Adult Basic Education).
Subjects include GED prep, basic math, basic reading, basic writing as well as financial literacy. Mercy Housing has seven locations on the north side (all locations are in the Uptown/Lakeview area).
