As I drive around the city I see plenty of these in this condition and even worse. With the city always crying for money I wish the mayor would spend it on better traffic control management and safety issues then signs that many drivers ignore anyway.
These signs were a huge waste of money. Anyone that thought these would make it through even one winter has never spent the winter in Chicago. I appreciate what they were trying to achieve but this only solved your problem for 2 months. It seems like nobody thought this idea through before buying dozens of these things which are now garbage.
Those cabbies are the only ones doing that. They're notorious for not paying attention. These signs are an ironic representation of the carelessness that exists with commercial drivers.
