Reminder: CTA Open House Starts About ... NOW

WILSON RED LINE STATION RENOVATION OPEN HOUSE MEETING

TONIGHT - THURSDAY, October 11
Harry S Truman College - Main Lobby
1145 W. Wilson Ave. - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will host an open house meeting to display renderings of the proposed reconstructed Wilson Red Line station to gather public input on project details. The $203 million Wilson Reconstruction project will be the second-largest CTA station reconstruction project currently planned - second to the 95th Street Red Line Terminal - and will result in a completely rebuilt, modern and accessible transfer station between Red and Purple lines.

CTA is seeking feedback on a number of design details related to the station. The current scope of work will include restoration of the terra cotta exterior from the historic 1923 Gerber Building; a rebuilt stationhouse with elevators and other modern amenities; new transfer platforms; and structural and viaduct work. Demolition work is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2013 with construction continuing through 2015.

To assist CTA in finalizing project details, customers, residents and community members are invited to learn more about the project and offer feedback tonight's meeting.
