I am really so tired of people asking for money each time I have to walk or drive in our streets. As far as I am concerned, I refuse to give them a handout and they need to get a life and start helping themselves.
I am a five year Thresholds veteran, and I can assure you, most panhandlers have their most basic needs taken care of. Don't give. You can live and eat rent-free, tax free, and money-free in Chicago for your whole life if you have modicum of brains. I had to do it for a portion for 2008, and these guys have been doing it for eons.
