Tribune reports a fatal accident on Lake Shore Drive late Saturday:
A man trying to cross Lake Shore Drive from near Montrose Harbor died after being hit by a taxi, police said.
The crash happened about 11:10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive. Nobody else was injured, police said. Additional details about the man weren't immediately available.
A nurse who was northbound on the drive approached the scene after it happened but before the ambulance arrived. She and her husband stopped to see if she could help. She found a faint pulse but said the man's wounds were too extensive for him to be saved. The rest of the story is here.

How dreadful for the driver. I can't imagine this happening to me while driving.
