Partial Closure On Argyle This Weekend

From Ald. Osterman to block club presidents:
"In preparation for the 'Red Ahead' project beginning on August 24, 2012, the CTA will be working on the Argyle viaduct and tracks Friday, July 6 - Sunday, July 8.

CTA will not allow thru traffic on Argyle St. from the alley west of the viaduct to Winthrop starting on Friday, July 6 at 5:00pm.  The street will be re-opened at 8:00am on the morning of Saturday, July 7.  It will close again at 3:30pm on Saturday, July 7 and will remain closed until 6:00am on Sunday, July 8.

The street will remain open during the day on Saturday to accommodate for increased business traffic. The station will remain open to riders throughout the weekend."

  1. Thanks for posting, Uptown Update. This is first we heard that work is starting at Argyle. Crews are now active at Jarvis, Morse (station closed), Granville (station closed), Thorndale and Argyle, all part of the North Red Station Interim Improvements project.
