"In addition to making a fun, sticky mess of themselves at the Windy City Ribfest in Uptown this weekend, July 13-15th, kids also get to enjoy their own Family Pavilion featuring live performances by Chicago musicians and performers. Chicago’s pop-sweetheart for kids, Laura Doherty, will perform an interactive acoustic show on both Saturday and Sunday at the family stage. Guitars Forever of the Old Town School of Folk Music will also perform on Friday evening.
Uptown’s own Jake LaBotz, renowned as an American blues singer, songwriter and actor will perform on Saturday, July 15th at 1pm. Kids will also have a chance to learn to juggle and try out their own circus skills during Uptown’s CircEsteem’s act on Saturday and Sunday.
Located at Broadway and Racine, the Family Pavilion will also feature a petting zoo on Saturday, July 14th from 12pm to 4pm, and a Bouncy House on Sunday, July 15th from 12pm to 4:30pm. Throughout the weekend the Family Pavilion will also offer crafts, games and exhibits hosted by Inspiration Café Corporation, Sharp as A Tack, Tree House, and Citizen Skate. Kids will also be invited to create their own sidewalk chalk art and check out the hula hoop and beach ball play area.
The Windy City Ribfest in Uptown is July 13-15th. Located at Broadway and Lawrence and Leland. A $6 suggested donation at the gate supports the community projects of Business Partners, the Chamber for Uptown.
