Bike Tour Of Historical Uptown
Bike Uptown to Host Bicycle Tour of Historic Uptown Sites
Saturday, May 26, 3:00 p.m.
Bike Uptown will host a free bicycle tour of historic Uptown sites on Saturday, May 26, beginning at 3pm and followed by social time at 4pm.
The public is welcome to join 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman and Bike Uptown on a leisurely bike ride to discover more about Uptown's unique history.
The tour will visit: the Hutchinson Street Historic District, the Peace Garden, Montrose Peninsula and The Dock, the Aragon Ballroom, Essanay Studios and finish at Big Chicks restaurant for socializing and nourishment.
The tour begins at Uptown Bikes, 4653 N. Broadway, and finishes at 4pm, Big Chicks, 5024 N. Sheridan, for socializing until 6pm.
Bike Uptown (http://bikeuptown.org/) is a local organization that advocates for calmer Uptown streets for walking, biking and using transit.
UU Note: Bike the Drive is the next day, May 27th, beginning at 5:30am. The Drive will be closed to cars south of Bryn Mawr. Bikers must be off the Drive by 10:15am.

there's two different times listed here--one that says it starts at 3pm/4pm, and then socializing starts at 4pm/6pm. what are the right times?

ReplyDeleteYay Bike Uptown. Might just ride along on me new bike. No way am I doing the 5:30am drive thing. Biking LSD sounds cool just not that much a morning person eh.
