Last Day To RSVP

Today's the last day to RSVP for the Gangs Awareness Seminar that will be held at Truman College on Thursday evening.  We've been to a few and came away a little more knowledgeable about what's going on our our streets and in our city.  Click here for the flyer.  You can RSVP by calling 773.334.4066 or emailing

There's an article in today's Sun-Times about a new strategy the CPD is utilizing to help get a better handle on the gangs:  "[The 24th District Police in Rogers Park] completed a “gang audit” in February to get a better picture of gang territory, gang membership and gang dynamics of the area. Similar audits are being done across the city. Rogers Park provides a snapshot of how police districts are tailoring gang information to their unique problems."

  1. Gang awareness?

    I'm aware we have gangs.

I'm also aware that my good friend and former Uptown buddy PJ Saulus found a story on Uptown and made his obligatory comment.

He worked George Zimmerman into it. He really should have commented on the KFC post. We could have used his nuttiness there to make that post even crazier. Perhaps he could have compared KFC to Zimmerman.

The Uplift Uptown story is interesting, but I tried two different browsers and can't get the embedded audio to work.

As for the story it involves college bound high school students from Uplift claiming that they aren't the cause of Uptown's violence.

Which is mostly true. However, some Uplift students are involved in the violence and are just not innocent victims. Like any story involving Uptown, Colombian Hookers and Secret Service agents, KFC, Lyndon Larouche and the illuminati, JP Paulus, adult spankings at JPUSA, adult spankings at my condo, or Republican politicians in bathrooms stalls there are at least 4 sides to the story.

    Did I say KFC? Yummy.
