It's Record Store Day

It's a nationwide celebration of small locally owned businesses, still selling vinyl in an era of MP3s and downloads.  Shake Rattle & Read (4812 N Broadway) is participating in Uptown, as are Laurie's Planet of Sound in Lincoln Square, Village Records in Roscoe Village, and several stores in Lakeview.  You can read more about Record Store Day here.  Ric Addy has posted on Shake Rattle & Read's Facebook page that "In Celebration of Record Store Day - Sat. 4/21/12 - we will be offering 25% off used Vinyl Lp's, 45 rpm's, CD's and music books and magaines! Noon till 6pm."
