Boooooooooooo!I live right near there and tons of people from the community use that field in the summertime. Why can't it be open to everyone? Obviously the school gets first priority.
It is a waste of tif money. Leave the park, the way it was. This is stupid!
Would be nice if Uplifts principal reached out to the community that pays its bills and the TIFS.. and not ignore the community that surrounds it... Maybe use some of that TIF money to take replace the Shiller mosiac why we are at it...
how about hoping the gate? Closing off an open space like this is ridiculous, I see families here all the time in the summer. Unless "private property" signs are posted, screw it, occupy it.
I think we'll have to wait until the fencing goes up to know for sure. By the placement of the posts, it looks like there will be openings at the sidewalks. With so many kids using the park, it makes sense to have designated entry-exit points, and prevent kids/balls/etc. from running into the cul-de-sacs.They might also be looking to prevent people from crossing directly across the field, ruining the grass (though football practice seems to do that pretty well).
Um, why the assumption that the fence will cut off neighbors from using it? A lot of city parks have fences around them and they don't prevent people from using them.
