CAPS Meetings Remain The Same... For Now

Effective this past weekend, the 23rd Police District merged with the 19th Police District, and got a new name (Town Hall 19th District) and a new commander (John Kenny).  If you live south of Lawrence, you have a new beat number, some with different boundaries.  But your CAPS meetings will stay the same for the time being.  From Ald. Cappleman's latest newsletter:
As a result of the combination of the 19th and 23rd districts on March 4, all the current beats will be replaced with new boundaries and beat numbers.  The beat meetings that have already been scheduled for the 23rd district residents will continue to be held through June so you can be informed as to your new beat number and beat boundaries, along with providing you with any other information as it becomes available. The current staff of the 23rd district Community Policing office will be available to assist you as they have in the past with any community issue.  The phone number to the Community Policing office is 312.744.0064.
