Nom Nom Nom

Hankering for a Samoa or Thin Mints?  You're in luck:  According to the schedule put out by the local Girl Scout Council, there will be cookie sales at Jewel (Montrose & Broadway) between 11am and 5pm:
  • Saturday, February 25th
  • Saturday, March 10
  • Saturday, March 17
The Girl Scouts have been getting a lot of flack lately, everything from being boycotted for allowing transgender kids to participate, to some silly legislator in Indiana claiming they are a "tactical arm of Planned Parenthood."  Buy accordingly.

  1. Yep, I'm going to buy plenty of boxes of these treats as a "protest," also to honor the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts, of which I used to be a member.

And Catholics - don't use Lent as an "excuse" for not buying. Most GS cookies will freeze beautifully until Easter (especially the mints).

  2. I will buy as many boxes as I can to honor this great organization that took me through girlhood, and as a form of protest against the loons and bigots attacking it.

  3. Hmmm. I was at that Jewel today at 2:00 and I didn't see the Scouts there.

  4. Maux - They were inside the front door, right by the produce dept.

I believe next weekend is the last weekend for in-store cookie sales, just in time for the 100th birthday party on the 12th.
