"The Interrupters" On PBS Tuesday Night

Watch The Interrupters Preview on PBS. See more from FRONTLINE.

The documentary "The Interrupters" will be on PBS's Frontline Tuesday night at 8pm.   It's about the work Ceasefire does in Chicago, and as many Uptowners know, Ceasefire is in Uptown now.  While the documentary doesn't deal with our area specifically, it provides a window into how Ceasefire operates.  For more interviews and information about Tuesday's airing, click here.

  1. This is a great documentary that is receiving a lot of positive attention (including the Colbert Report: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/407605/february-01-2012/ameena-matthews). I attended a viewing in Evanston a few weeks ago and loved it. I really encourage everyone to check it out!

  2. I think "work" is too strong a word for what Ceasefire does. Even "operate" is a stretch.

  3. Someone or something interrupted our gang shooting activity. I just looked through the UU archives and there hasn't been a reported shooting around here since December 11th.

I suspect it has more to do with the criminal justice system than Ceasefire, but in any case I hope it continues.
