More Halloween Happenings

In case you haven't noticed, there's a lot going on for Halloween in Uptown.  You can find all the events in the calendar on the right sidebar, but here are some more that have arrived in our in-box:

For Kids:

• The Second Annual GWNA Halloween Party will take place in the Sunnyside Mall on Saturday, October 29th, at 10:30am. There'll be pumpkin decorating, games, and a parade around the block to the Broncho Billy Playlot.
• The Chase Park Halloween Jamboree happens on Sunday, October 30th, 12-2pm. Come celebrate fall with pumpkins, scary stories, and sweet treats at this free event. Don't forget to wear a costume! (4701 N Ashland)
• The Buena Park Neighbors' Safe Trick or Treating Event celebrates its 14th year on Monday, October 31st from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  This premium event still needs volunteers and candy!  If you can help out and be a participant in the evening, please contact gretchen.drury@180promotions.com. If you can donate candy or goodies, please drop them off at Thorek Hospital, Awake Cafe or Dollop Cafe.

For Adults:

• Celebrate Halloween and help a worthy cause with SoFo Tap's Spooktacular on Thursday, October 27th at 8:30 pm.  Windy City Gay Idol TJ Chernick and Idol Finalists Christine Lawal and James Gavin will join Mark Ortega for a night of fun entertainment to benefit The Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN).  There'll be a costume contest, a raffle and live entertainment all evening.  A $5 donation is requested.  (4923 N Clark)
• Crew (4804 N Broadway) presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show Singalong on Friday, October 28th at 9pm, followed by a costume contest at 11pm.  Click here for the details.  They are also serving Nosferatu from Great Lakes Brewing on tap all month.
• Fat Cat (4840 N Broadway) will hold a Zombie Prom on Saturday, October 29th, with a costume party, a live DJ and drink specials.  See the poster here.

Cemetery Tour

• The Ravenswood/Lake View Historical Association sponsors a tour of Graceland Cemetery, led by veteran North Side reporter Pat Butler, on Sunday, October 23rd, at 1:15pm.  "The secrets of one of Chicago’s most storied graveyards – such as which philanthropist is buried in a keg of brandy and which 19th century “robber baron” was so unpopular at the time of his death his family and business associates had him interred under tons of concrete, steel rails and wooden track ties – will be unveiled during a two-hour walking tour."  Tour participants should meet inside the cemetery gates (4001 N Clark) beginning at 1pm; tickets are $10.
