Cut Your Utility Bills

Rep. Greg Harris, Ald. James Cappleman and Ald. Harry Osterman present

Learn how to save hundreds of dollars on your phone, gas and electric bills

The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) is coming to Uptown to help you cut your utility and phone costs by hundreds of dollars a year.  A CUB study has estimated that Illinois callers could be overpaying by more than $1 billion a year -- but most could enjoy big savings by making a few simple changes on their phone bills. CUB has shown phone customers how to save millions of dollars through an award-winning website, www.CitizensUtilityBoard.org, and free clinics that give tips on how to slash local and long-distance bills.
Also, CUB Energy Saver has shown participants how to reduce annual electricity usage by an average of 5.5%, ($55 a year on electricity). In addition, learn how to cut your natural gas bills by an additional $49 a year.

  1. All the taxes and fees that seem to grow larger by the month makes it almost impossible to have enough tips to counter these increases. When it comes to land based phone service you can look at many of the internet based ones. I installed magic jack and I can call local and long distance 24 X 24 at $19.95 a year surely saved me plenty. I see no difference between ATT and magic jack except the costs.
