Help Inspiration Corporation! Vote Online

If nothing else, we in Uptown are excellent at stuffing online ballot boxes. Need we remind you that Uptown is the proud possessor of the Curbed Chicago's "Neighborhood of the Year" award... because we voted, and voted, and voted....

Now we can help Inspiration Corporation supply some transitional jobs right here in Uptown by helping it win a $50,000 grant from Pepsi. Voting goes through the month of August, and you can vote once a day. Are we up to the challenge? Prove it!

"Hello Uptown Updaters,

We’re regular readers of the blog at Inspiration Corporation, and we wanted to share some news about a voting drive project that we’re currently involved in.

We are in the running to win a $50,000 grant from Pepsi through the Pepsi Refresh Project to fund 15 two-month-long, full-time transitional jobs. These jobs are a great way for people to get experience and references when they are reentering the workforce or starting a career for the first time. To win the grant, we need to get the most online votes in our category during the month of August.

Since the jobs will have an impact on the community, we are hoping that you’ll help give us a boost through a post.

Votes can be made online at http://www.refresheverything.com/inspirationcorporation or by texting 108175 to Pepsi (73744). Normal texting rates apply. You can vote for the project once per day.

Thanks so much, and we’re looking forward to seeing who will be the next to receive the “Our Lady of Perpetual Scaffolding” award."

  1. I just wanted to add a personal story of: "This works". The niece of one of my co-workers has a rare genetic disease for which the only possible treatment was an experimental gene therapy. She applied for the Pepsi contest in order to generate the money required to research/implement the treatment and thanks to our/others efforts, she won the prize. Now we're just waiting and hoping they can find the cure.

I encourage everyone to vote. It's easy and Inspiration Corporation deserves every penny!

  4. Inspiration Corp is currently in 59th place. They need to get to 10th place to get a grant. Their application will not roll over to another month and they will have to wait until next year to try again unless they want to re-apply under the education category. (And, I am not sure this is even possible.)

UU-ers do this social networking thing well. Let's put those skills to good use helping members of our community!
