A reader wrote us about a new business in town,
Uptown Soda Bread Co. It's made in Uptown, and doesn't have a storefront yet (but they're working on it).
You can check out the website here to place an order, but if you're an immediate gratification kind of person, you can check them out at the
Irish Fest on Sunday (4626 N Knox Avenue on the Nort'wes' Side). We wish them much luck and success.
Great to have something totally unique like this in Uptown. I heard this was a major hit at the Irish Fest this weekend. Definitely worth a try
ReplyDeleteI saw these guys at Irish Fest and their breads are awesome. Glad to see good stuff coming out of Uptown.
ReplyDeleteExcited that soda bread coming to neighborhood. Web site does not give specific address but shows some tasty wares....including chocolate chip soda bread.
ReplyDeleteI second ChicagoDad's comments. The samples were outstanding @ the fest, highly recommend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much UU for posting this story - I saw that they recently provided some of their breads at (or in some other way sponsored) an event that was associated with Alderman Cappleman. Having never heard of them, I googled and googled but could only find a phone number and website referencing that they were in Uptown - but no address! Glad to hear they're working on a storefront, can't wait to give them a try!
