Uptown Man Dies From Heat

Some sad news about a neighbor:

"An autopsy done today indicated that a 59-year-old Uptown man died of heat stroke, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. A relative found David Nikuni unresponsive in his home in the 900 block of West Gunnison Avenue at about 7:20 a.m."  Read the entire story here.

Please look at the city's heat guidelines and take advantage of the cooling centers (4740 N Sheridan, the libraries, the park fieldhouses, the police stations and senior centers) if you need to.  Please check on your neighbors who might not be able to deal with the heat.  If you can't make it out of your house, call 311 and tell them you need help.  Our condolences to the friends and relatives of Mr. Nikuni.
