Farmer's Market was a good start. Great idea for a nighttime since so many of us work and cannot get to the Weiss Market. Love to see more veg, more people!!
if you are looking for some trial runs the market might provide you with the necessary place to experiment, observe and take note for a larger future place elsewhere in the 46th ward. you might want to talk w/ 48th ward offices as to how you can get in with the market. when we conversed with them they seemed to be very open to the idea of new tables at the farmers market. the market is placed in buttercup park right across from 46th ward borders @ ainsle and sheridan so it is not like one would be traveling out of uptown. i highly encourage you to think about this market as a starter.
We can do this in the 46th ward side of Uptown too. This summer.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate having evening Farmers Markets for those of us who work days - thanks! See you tonight!
ReplyDeleteI hear Uptown Soda Bread will also be there. Good Stuff.
ReplyDeletethe market was very delightful, a great starter. artist tables could be a good contribution and help expand the market.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more...especially artists willing to demonstrate. People love to see the magic happen.
I was talking to Alderman Cappleman after a meeting last night about my favorite subject (art in Uptown), he is all for it, believes in artists.
It takes time to get things going but a pop=up farmers/art market is doable this season.
Does anyone have an idea for a good spot to do this in the 46th?
I would like to give Sunnyside Mall a shot.
