A New Contender For "Our Lady Of Perpetual Scaffolding"

We have a new contender for the title of "Our Lady of Perpetual Scaffolding" which was previously held by the Sheridan Plaza.
The CTA owned dilapidated storefronts under the L tracks on Wilson are close to receiving this prestigious honor. The largest of the two spaces is used as a CTA carpenter's workshop. Go figure.
The scaffolding has been up for SEVEN MONTHS with no work being done of the exteriors of the storefronts.
We hope that we can say goodbye to the boarded up windows and crumbling facades, and that the terracotta can somehow be salvaged in the new update.
Oh, and we hope the old green lightpole, that was not able to be replaced due to this ever-present scaffolding, is removed once work is complete and replaced with one of the shiny new "acorn" lightpoles.

  1. I hope this rig isn't a rental....that would be unfunny...maybe even curious.

  2. Wouldn't that be a perfect location for Potbelly's? With the college there and the El stop, I would think it would do great.

Too bad the CTA doesn't get it cleaned up and presentable for tenants.

    Meh, one can dream...
