That Was Then, This Is Now

Last September, we saw a sign that would be obsolete by MayWhose names would replace the three on the sign, we wondered?

Well, now we know that Rahm Emanuel is the Mayor of Chicago, Harry Osterman is "Alderman 48th Ward" and James Cappleman is "Alderman 46th Ward."  What of the sign?

A reader writes:

"In case you were wondering what took its place, I attach a photograph (left).

I think they're public art; given the area, I think the yellow line on the red background may be a coastline, in the top piece, and I think the bottom piece is meant to be humorous given its concatenation of both into one offer and its lack of a phone number or contact address."

  1. You know, I think I prefer the obsolete sign over what took its place.

  2. Maybe that crap was behind the sign the whole time...

  3. The art's been there all along. I remember that white sign going up - they must've just put it right over the top.
