No surprise here: Lots happening this weekend in Uptown in conjunction with the Pride Parade and related events.
- On Saturday, June 25th, Artist Central Exchange (the A.C.E.) will party from 7-11pm at 4866 N Clark. The theme is Creative Cultural Night: Chicago Pride. If you're interested in hanging art for this event, email john@artcx.com. A limited amount of wine and beer will be available. Feel free to BYOB. Suggested donation of $5-10. More about it here.
- On Sunday, June 26th, Crew (4804 N Broadway) will host the Official RedEye Post Parade Party. There will be drink specials and a deejay taking requests. Doors open at 1pm; party starts at 3pm. More about it here.
- The parade, while not in Uptown, will feature some floats/entries of local interest. It kicks off at noon:
- Ald. James Cappleman (46th) will be entry #12 (right after Alds. Tom Tunney and Scott Waguespack)
- The next float (#13) will be that of Sen. Heather Steans, Rep. Greg Harris, Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th Ward) and Rep. Kelly Cassidy
- Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) will be entry #22.
- Howard Brown Health Center will be #89
- Trevor Project will be #96
- RedEye & Crew will be #110A
- Treehouse Humane Society will be #138
- Chicago Lake Shore Hospital will be #139
