Uptown United's "Day of Service" On June 4th

A reader made us aware of this from Uptown United's website:

"Join your friends and neighbors for a day of volunteering with some of Uptown's wonderful nonprofit organizations. You'll serve a meal to our community's hungry, mentor youth working with technology, spruce up our recycling center, and more! Then, join other volunteers and hosts for a great time at Crew Bar + Grill."  Participating nonprofits include 2 Lil Fishes (Peoples Church); Alternatives; Cornerstone Community Outreach (JPUSA); Inspiration Corporation; Japanese American Service Committee; and Resource Center (Uptown Recycling Center). You can read all about it and RSVP here.

  3. I hope everyone that has been BITCHING about Uptown on here the last few years takes a few hours of their time to help the community we all call home... we are signed up to Volunteer.. I am truly hopeful my fellow UU friends will too! There are some great opportunties to help the kids here in Uptown, clean up a few areas, or just help serve some meals to hungry folks...thanks UU!

  4. Yeah no thanks on helping the institutions that bring the critical mass of drug users to the uptown drug market which becomes a gang shooting. Maybe I would help or even donate if I thought that cornerstone even gave a shit.

  5. PB. Alternatives and the Uptown Recycling Center are great options for you then, unless you are looking for an excuse not to volunteer...then no one can help you..
