Here's the Scoop! Tomorrow's An Ice Cream Sundae

As of Sunday, Uptown will have an ice cream parlor.  Please welcome the very creatively decorated Purple Cow Ice Cream Cafe, located at 838 W Montrose.

This is what they told us:  "Mark Cohen, the founder of The Purple Cow Ice Cream Cafe, has lived in the Uptown area for several years.  The Purple Cow is a family owned business featuring 20 flavors of ice cream and several delicious treats such as muffins, pop corn, cookies and candy.  Also serving smoothies, shakes, and specialty coffee drinks.

The Purple Cow is currently putting the finishing touches on a party room.  The doors are opening at 2:00 on Sunday.  There will be a larger grand opening party down the road that we will definitely keep you posted on.  We plan to be open 7 days a week."  Here's a link to the Cow's Facebook page.

With warmer weather in the forecast (finally!), it's perfect timing.  We look forward to having some ice cream after a long day at Montrose Harbor.  Can't wait.

I'm going to head over there soon so hopefully others will join and show them a good welcome.

  5. Just got back and I'm a fan. Nice people, great spot and a good fit for the neighborhood.

Plus in addition to ice cream they had cupcakes from Crumbs and other dessert items for sale. Something for everyone.

  6. A note on the window would have been great, rather than posting on their FB page. I was there at 3pm and the store was dark, there was no mention of why they weren't open yet.

  8. We stopped in around 3pm and were rudely shooed out again. I wouldn't have paid to park if they'd simply put up the chalkboard sidewalk sign they had sitting right inside the door. Kind of a bummer.

  9. Christine and Spinner: I hope you'll give them another try. I agree there should have been on a sign on the door, but whatever was happening was urgent or important enough for them to have to push back the opening. I'm sure they would love your business.

They're very responsive on their facebook page so you could always pass along your frustration to them and see if you get an appropriate apology.

True to identity, un-bias succinctly states the pertinent facts without being pro-Purple Cow, or anti-Purple Cow.

Even the follow up could be an endorsement, or a threat.

Un-bias, can you do movie reviews? Thoughts on Pirates of the Carribean?
