Welcome, Hair Cuttery!
"A little about us: I am the Salon Leader (manager) and have a wonderful team of 6 ladies and 1 gentlemen who have a passion and love for our career. We are a full service salon which provides services to men, women, and children.
Some of the services we provide are cuts, styles, colors, relaxers, permanent waves, our new Premiere Keratin Treatments, hair extensions, facial waxing, neck waxing, and much much more. At Hair Cuttery you are going to get a great service at a great price! We strive to wow and delight every person that walks into our salon!
Our grand opening was March 2nd at 4434 N Broadway. We currently have about 100 grand opening coupons left at the salon for 1/2 off a Haircut. These coupons expire 4/19/2011. I will save them and try to get more for the use of anyone who comes in and mentions that they saw us on Uptown Update.
Also in the month of April, we are proud to support Easter Seals. Act For Autism is our way of supporting Easter Seals services for families living with autism in communities nationwide. Every donation can make a world of difference.
Angie Girton, Salon Leader of Hair Cuttery Wilson Yard"
Update: For those unfamiliar with HC, they operate on a walk-in basis only. You can get a half-off coupon here, good through April 19th. (Of course, you know to tip on the full amount of the services.)

Awesome! I've always been a Hair Cuttery fan and am glad to have them in the neighborhood!ReplyDelete
I'll be there!ReplyDelete
Was there last week; basic haircut for $15 w/o coupon.ReplyDelete
The stylist was fine -- though a little too ambitious on the upselling for my taste. That said, nice to have one of these in the neighborhood and think they'll do well for themselves given their location and lack of "chain" competition (closest of their ilk is at broadway/foster or thereabouts).
Here's the online coupon the owner was talking about (this is no longer live, but available from Google's cache, so get it while you can):
I may live in Uptown but I'm not getting my hair butchered at the Hair Cuttery. You get what you pay for and I'm not going to take that out on my hair.ReplyDelete
That's great realnicehon. Thanks for sharing that with us all.ReplyDelete
I've been there twice now. I'll keep going. I don't have enough hair to spend much money on it.ReplyDelete
My only complaint is that there are no hot young men cutting hair there.
Now that's more like it. I have a simple hair cut and maybe need a coloring job once in a while, but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for either.ReplyDelete
This is nice. The more businesses that open, the better for everyone.ReplyDelete
Don't worry 'realnicehon' no matter how much you spend you your haircut, you'll still be ugly on the insideReplyDelete
I have no hair and I can care less about a Hair Cuttery or any type Salon or nail shop as we already have enough of them around here anyway. Where is some higher end clothing stores like around the Lincoln Park and DePaul area. Thats what I am waiting for. We could use some class in Uptown and less Target type clothing lines.ReplyDelete
Wiseguy, I think your right, we need more class in Uptown. How about you start by showing a little yourself?ReplyDelete
Different people have different needs and preferences....ReplyDelete
Welcome Hair Cuttery!
Hopefully, Target shoppers will soon have lots of reasons to come to Uptown and spend their money.
Those wanting a more full service experience can shoot on over to Leland and Broadway.
If you think about it, Wilson Station and Uptown COULD be a very desirable location if we could clean it up and make it safe.
This place definitely fills a needed market. For the last ten years I've been going to boystown for my haircut. There were plenty of vacant porperties, so we didn't need to have the taxpayers build the space but that's another matter.ReplyDelete
This would be awesome if I weren't bald...but hey, I liked Hair Cuttery when I had hair.ReplyDelete
does hair cuttery do nails? Love the additional businesses in this area.ReplyDelete
No need to go to Boystown for a haircut. Mary's on Lawrence and Clark charges $6 for a haircut and she does a great job. You just have to be specific on what you want. She also offers to put some 'yel' in your hair. For a haircut/eye-brow waxing combo she charges me only $10! I don't know why people think they have to pay $50 for a good haircut. Suckers...ReplyDelete
i went there this past weekend for a haircut. a girl names heather cut my hair and she did a great job. i'll definitely be going back. i'm so happy hair cuttery opened so close to my apartment!ReplyDelete
Boystown's closer Adam.ReplyDelete
I went there yesterday but only for the UU coupon. I basically get a buzz cut that only takes a minute. Worth $7.50 to me but not $15.ReplyDelete
Glad they are here, but I'll be going to Mary's for my $6 buzz cut.
I'm happy to see we have one less vacant store front, but I'm with Wiseguy, a hair cuttery doesn't blow my skirt up. I'll get excited when we start to see decent clothing stores moving in. However, best of luck to the team at hair cuttery, I hope they do well!ReplyDelete
Baby steps, boys and girls. Baby steps.ReplyDelete
Welcome to the neighborhood, Hair Cuttery.
As a person with an autism spectrum disorder, does this mean they'll understand why I don't want to chit chat with them while they touch up my roots?ReplyDelete
My first visit to the Hair Cuttery today. Highly recommend! Heather was extremely friendly and very thorough...Good edition to the neighborhood.ReplyDelete
