What happens to unused campaign funds? For example Schulter. Or, for example, in the off chance he doesn't make it back on the ballot, the $11M+ Rahm raised.
ReplyDeleteDriftin:
ReplyDeleteIn some cases, for older warchests, some of the unused money can be converted to income for the candidate. Schulter for example can claim about $200K. Check out our site (wellesparkbulldog.com) for the exact amount for Schulter (Search "Schulter").
Otherwise, there are three things that can be done:
1) Return the money to contributors
2) Use the money for other political purposes (requires a transfer and is reported to the State Bd of Elections)
3) Use the money for charitable purposes.
