Two Days Left To Make A Difference

Tomorrow is the last day to register to vote in the municipal elections next month.

A lot of people write to us lamenting the violence, the indifference of the aldermen, the lack of transparency, and the bad management practices we see every day.  They're angry, frightened and feel helpless to do anything about it.

You may not be able to beat city hall, but you can sure decide who gets to have an office there.

If you want to feel empowered rather than victimized, make sure you're not only able to vote, but make a commitment to get out there and do it.  With a total of 20 candidates in the three aldermanic wards that make up Uptown, and no incumbent in any of the races, every vote will count.

If you still need to register, get to a public library, get to the Board of Elections downtown, or print out the form on the right sidebar and mail it in.  Tuesday night is the last chance.

  1. Can we use the same card for these elections as we do for voting for congressmen? I'm hoping there isn't some additional 'local' voting card needed.
