Scaffolding Comes Down As More Goes Up

The scaffolding that has been surrounding the Sheridan Plaza Apartments at Sheridan and Wilson for close to 5 years is finally coming down! We heard from several nearby residents who are thankful to finally be able to walk around this architectural gem and get an unobstructed view. We bet the business owners are tickled pink as well.

In other scaffolding news, the CTA owned storefronts (below) just to the west of the Wilson auxiliary entrance have scaffolding going UP. We can only assume this is due to the long delayed renovation using the $3Million dollars Ald. Shiller has "generously" allocated for the rehab. We look forward to seeing these two buildings return to their former glory.

  1. Wow. I don't think I'd ever recognized the Chicago-style detail of the Sheridan Plaza's second floor, before.

    Absolutely beautiful.

  4. The bodega? Sure. It's bigger than you'd think from the outside, and pretty well stocked. They don't put up with a lot of crap. You have to check any outside bags, and they don't let more than one student in at a time. It's a good place to run out for something if you don't want to go to a supermarket.

I think what Wilson could use is
a rehab of some apartment building around there or a four plus one
    into one of those
