  1. Is it also history, Governor Pat Quinn, raised our state income tax 65%. Maybe that one he signed behind closed doors.

  2. Wiseguy, would you prefer that he take up the republican stance on spending/reducing the deficit and just cut education, social services or city services? How about we lay off some more police? Or, wait for it, the best idea of all from republicans, lets just cut taxes!!! Maybe we could get out of this immense deficit by paying less taxes! If you want to bash politicians, bash the ones that are saying they will reduce the deficit one way and then simply do an about-face and retreat. How about Mark Kirk? He said he would vote in favor of cutting defense spending while running for the senate. Now he has backtracked and is instead trying to cut social services and other programs that help educate and care for our citizens and youth. In favor of what? Oh,, that's right, building more useless fighter jet engines we don't need and developing more rocket launchers we don't need. Are you seeing my point? If not, here it is, be quiet and pay your taxes, your voting record got us into this mess.

  4. @Wiseguy

Yes, I agree with you that the income tax hike was bad for Illinois. So was the failure to legalize medicinal marijuana at the same time the legislature passed Civil Unions. But Civil Unions are such a momentous step forward for this state, and the country as a whole, that it is good reason to celebrate. I'm strongly considering attending with a Gadsden flag that says "Thanks for not treading on me!"

  5. Ahhh WISEGUY! Can you please stop being a coward and sending me emails everytime I say something you don't agree with on this blog? I am open to civil debate. Don't send people insulting emails ranting on about why you hate liberals and democrats. I don't know you, and although I don't agree with alot of conservative beliefs, I certainly don't hate anyone because of it. Grow up man. That type of party politics is reserved for congress. We are real people here, ok?
