New Lighting Appearing Outside Wilson L

The new "acorn" lighting is starting to make an appearance in the blighted 4600 block of Broadway. The last time lighting of this type graced this stretch of Broadway was presumably the 1960s. The photo below shows the Wilson L station in 1959 via Chicago-L.
Progress, folks.

  1. It does make for a fun juxtaposition with the aging station in the background

  2. Forget the lights and rebuild the Wilson L station would be a better idea.

  3. 50 years later we have acorn lights. Pardon me for being snippy, but good-bye Helen! Any other career political hack out in the system, I hope your time is coming as well.

  4. I love these vintage shots.....it's painful to see the last one. The Wilson/Broadway (formerly Pop Eyes) corner looks so nice.

    EYE, I couldn't agree more.....good-bye Helen!
