I really like when these guys show up around the lake. I've spent many a winter afternoon trudging through snow and ice to watch them and take photos. There's a spot at Diversey harbor that they gravitate to because there's running water that keeps ice from forming at the end of some docks. It's just fun to wonder how long they're stopping over, how exhausted they are, etc.
Winged Migration is a must see Documentary for any nature loving, animal loving person out there..Geese are absolutely incredible animals, it should be illegal to shoot them, or I wish they knew how to shoot back!

ReplyDeleteWISEGUY,
ReplyDeleteThose are Canadian Geese...
Shooting them is a violation of an international treaty.
Just FYI.
"Canada"...not "Canadian."
ReplyDeleteIt's a species, not a nationality.
