Tree Watch 2010

Reports are coming in of new trees being planted in parkways all over Uptown. We thought that tree planting had been cut from the city's budget for the remainder of 2010, but obviously not. Two LONG empty spots in front of Wigs & Hair in the 4600 block of Broadway were even planted. Three cuts were made in the previously barren sidewalk in front of Godfather Pizza and Sheridan Park Food & Liquor for new trees. Oh, happy day.

  1. If only they would plant some on Sheridan between Wilson and Leland...there is nothing on the west side of that block.....

  2. Have you called 311 to request tree plantings?

  4. Might this be coming from the TIF, as opposed to city, budget?

  5. As much a tree nut as I am, I'd like to see the lighting project on Broadway finished before winter, and save landscaping for the spring!

  6. I agree larrynow. Are the lights on backorder or something? The east side of Broadway is so dark - and it appears they are having trouble keeping the ornamental ones on by the entrance to Target's underground parking. A nice dark place for who knows what to happen....
