A reader writes: "I live across the street from Somerset and am seeing more and more lights on in the units at night, however it's still boarded up. Any idea who's using the building and for what purposes?" Anyone know?
Maybe some people are getting inside and squatting there as it has happened to other buildings that have been closed down and boarded up. If you continue to see it I would report it to the police and they can check it out.
They've had security on duty since it shut down. I live right behind the building and lately I've seen the night guard checking around the back alley more often, so it could be that they're more actively on watch and leaving lights on from time to time.
Could it be the same "informal sub-lessees" from the Maryville campus? Haven't heard about or seen any of the squatters from there lately....
