Halloween Events

We're into October and Uptown's gearing up for All Hallow's Eve.  Here are some of the goings-on; more to come as we become aware of them:
  • Graceland Cemetery Tours each Sunday between today and Halloween.
  • The Haunted Lanes Bowl-a-thon will benefit Alternatives, on October 21 at 7pm.
  • Borders (4718 N Broadway) will hold its annual Halloween Spooktacular on October 30 at 11am.  "Kids ages 3 to 8 are invited to join in on the fun. We'll read scary stories, play spooky games, do a creepy craft and top it all off with a terrifying parade. Costumes are encouraged."
  • From Puptown:  "October 30 - Puptown's 10th Annual Howl-O-Ween dog costume Contest  - 2pm.  Puptown will be celebrating its annual dog costume contest and fund-raiser. Come on out  and enjoy the day.  There will be great prizes, a silent auctions and of course - the most adorable pouches in costume. Don't forget your checkbook. Money raised goes to maintenance and upkeep of the park.  All donations are tax deductible.  Rain Date is October 31.  If you want to help out by donating your time or a prize, please contact info@puptown.org"
  • Buena Park Neighbors tweeted:  "Buena Pumpkin Neighbors Safe Trick-or-Treating - Sunday, October 31 on Kenmore, between Irving Park and Montrose."
  • [New] GWNA Block Club's Halloween Fest For Kids at Sunnyside Mall, Saturday, October 30 at 10:30am.  Games, pumpkins, pets and a neighborhood parade!  Volunteers needed.  Read more about it here.

  1. Graceland Wilson Neighbors is also planning a kids Halloween celebration on 10/30 at 10:30 in Sunnyside Mall. Kids can wear costumes and we'll do some pumpkin decorating and games. More info to come at http://gwna.wordpress.com/
