Broadway & Carmen, 1960

Here is a great photo from 1960 showing the NW corner of Broadway and Carmen. The storefront housing the Western Auto and Broadway Food Fair is still there. Looks like most of the buildings visible in this photo survived. Buy the high-def version on eBay.

  1. I bet the billboard frame on the side of the building (for Butternut Bread) is the reason that the beer ghost sign under it survived so well?

  2. Does anyone know when the last time that building on the far corner housed a German restaurant? If it was already Japanese in the 60's, I'm thinking maybe the 40's or 50's.
