Want Fries With That?

Reports are coming in that two people were shot early this morning in the vicinity of Sheridan and Wilson. CBS is reporting that the incident happened in the alley behind the McDonalds restaurant at 1004 W. Wilson around 3:30 AM. Two victims were taken to Illinois Masonic and are reported in stable condition. No suspects have been arrested as of 7 A.M.

  1. I heard about 7-8 gunshots in rapid succession at 3:23am this morning coming from that viscinity. Within two minutes I heard two ambulances (and possibly a fire truck) rush to the scene. Within five minutes there were cars racing up and down the 4600 block of Kenmore. It's unclear to me whether these were getaway cars, but more than likely they were police vehicles looking for the shooter (my blinds were closed). It's been awhile since I've awoken to gunfire, but it's quite scary.

  2. I heard this as well. I was half asleep, so I wasn't sure it was gunfire. Sadly, my suspicions have been confirmed.

  3. I heard the same thing and within minutes, squad cars, an ambulance and a fire truck were gathered at Leland and Kenmore.A little while later another ambulance had arrived. Were there more people shot? Or did the victims from Wilson just end up at Leland and Kenmore?

  4. Heard the whole thing and saw the TWO shooters run south down Kenmore, hop the fence on the west side and take off South on the bicycles they had waiting for them. It sounded like they each emptied an entire clip (12-14 shots). Called the police, who showed up about 30 seconds later, but the shooters were long gone.

  6. hopefully the victims can - and DO - ID them.

in other news, i saw the aftermath of one kid getting jumped on Leland just west of Sheridan yesterday around 530pm. the police were THERE and chased after the beaters, catching one who was locked up. victim said he could ID any of them. excellent response by the CPD and paramedics to care for the victim.

  12. I also woke up at 3:30 am from the gun shots looking out my window directly at the McDonalds only to see the best two witnesses who where standing right there run up to the police tell them they where down wilson and the police just drove away. No don't throw them in the back for questioning; no that would be too smart. Lets just race around for the next 30 min tell it starts raining and do nothing about it. When I asked the police about the situation they told me "welcome to Chicago get used to it" .. This is my first month here and my last. The Police are out matched and with our laws in place they cannot get tough enough to clean out the streets. If you took the shooter and hung him on the street corner I promise this gang crap would stop fast. But that would just not be the politically correct or human thing to do?? I say tough!
