Join The Revived Graceland-Wilson Block Club

From Graceland-Wilson Neighbors Association:

Hello Neighbors. Graceland-Wilson Neighbors Association was formed back in 2002 by neighbors just like you. Our block club covers a large part of Uptown; GWNA boundaries run from Broadway to Malden, Montrose to Wilson.

During our first few years, our fundraising collected $5,000 to create the Fire Station garden on the corner of Wilson & Racine, we hosted street cleaning events and brunches and had the most amazing block club holiday progressive dinner with food fit for the Gods! But like all volunteer organizations, Graceland-Wilson Neighbors lost members and momentum. Lately, there’s been a very strong interest in reviving our block and today is the day we make it happen.

Many neighbors are deeply concerned about the increased violence on our streets. Cleaning up the guns and gangs while addressing the underlying causes will be our TOP priority. Together, we can do it. Right now we are asking people to sign up on the Graceland-Wilson Neighbors Association Facebook Group. It’s fast and easy—just go to http://www.facebook.com/ and search for Graceland-Wilson Neighbors Association.

We also need people to volunteer for GWNA block club captains who will basically help recruit new members from their block, post fliers for GWNA events and act as a good will ambassador. If you’re interested in becoming a block club captain, please designate which block you’d like and send an email to gwna13@gmail.com :
