Phil Vettel of the Tribune declared one of Iyanze's dishes to be the very best of the Taste of Chicago preview held on Tuesday and Wednesday: "And the best dish of the preview is the Senegalese bissap sorbet ($2.50), a sort-of frozen slushy made of hibiscus tea leaves, topped with a dollop of whipped cream. It's lightly sweet and very refreshing; I can't wait to try this in the July heat."
Bah Humbug! The Taste of Chicago should only consist of pizza, ribs and elephant ears.
