Court Advocates Needed

If you're free tomorrow (Thursday), the 23rd District Court Advocates are looking for concerned residents to come to 26th & Cal for the hearing of Dennis Dawson, who - you may remember - is accused of following an 85-year-old man into his home at Sheridan and Wilson, and beating him in the elevator to get his wallet.  It's a busy day at the courthouse, with a couple other cases that the District is following going on as well, including that of the accused garage burglars in the 23rd and 20th Districts.

If you're interested in attending, you can call the 23rd District Community Policing Office for more information (312-744-0064), or meet up with the other court advocates in the courtroom at 26th and California.  (Enter the building, go through security, turn right, and look at the printouts taped to the wall to find Mr. Dawson's courtroom number.)  There's free parking in the lot across from the courthouse on California; and just a reminder, you can't bring food or cameras into the courthouse.
